I remember a time where watching Trading Spaces was like Sunday Mass - a religious experience not to be missed. Tonight, all it took was 10 minutes to remind me why I stopped worshiping at the altar of TLC.
I caught the reveal portion of an episode during which Hildi pasted scraps of paper to a wall and covered up a room's French doors. In the same episode, Doug covered a gorgeous, ornate fruitwood desk with a tablecloth and cheap beads.
Doug has been reported as saying that he is there to make an interesting, entertaining show, and that the homeowner's wishes are secondary. In other words, they sell out to make what they think will be good TV. In my opinion, it's become just the opposite. The show has devolved into utter crap.
